Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Robert Joseph gave a press conference today on the Iran nuclear standoff. This is pretty unremarkable, though the prepared remarks are an excellent summary of the US government’s case against Iran. (Whether or not this case is a good one is something I’m not prepared to deal with today, but Joseph lays it out well.) The question-and-answer section, though, is interesting for a number of reasons. One of the most noteworthy points, to me, was the response to a question from a Turkish reporter:
